About Sharron
This blog is about offering hope and encouragement to families in the throes of addiction. I use that term to include all forms of addiction, substances or behaviors that have caused you or a loved one to lose control of their life. I have walked the addiction road for eighteen years as my son has struggled with his drug addiction. I’ve met many mothers along that road who have lost all hope that their child will ever be whole and healthy.
Something I have learned over the last two years of my son’s recovery walk is “time takes time.” Recovery is definitely a “one day at a time” proposition. I used to talk in terms of “when you’ve been clean five years or ten years” but have come to realize that kind of expectation is unrealistic for my addict and probably yours too.
I invite you to take this recovery journey with me. There will be bumps and potholes along the way, but there are also some smooth places where restoration and recovery happen.
May God richly bless you on your journey.

Way back when you and I were best friends and our children played together we could have never dreamed the direction our children would take. Where they went our hearts went. Sadly, we were separated after only a few years of family bliss and then so many troubles passed our way. I am so proud of you and me! We made it through very difficult times…esp. you. Everything that happened to us only strengthened us and gave us tools that would help many others to become overcomers. Adversity truly does fine tune us if we choose to heed it’s call. Above all, I have learned that God is always faithful and that has never changed. I’ve been plunged into the depths of his love and goodness. I would not exchange this wonderful knowledge for any amount of money. Besides…I’m rich already because my Father is a King! I love you, Sharron!

Yes, things didn’t quite turn out as planned, but we are better for the paths we’ve walked. I use the analogy of my white picket fence dreams versus split rail fence reality! The wonderful things about real friends is that even though years and miles separate, the hearts are never apart. I can’t wait to visit with you at the B & B! I love you, Sweet Ellen.
